U.S. Senator Tom Harkin will be honored for his public service on Sunday, April 6 by the Dallas County Democrats. Sen. Harkin will share his memories of his early days campaigning for the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as his goals for his final year in the U.S. Senate.

Sen. Harkin often tells the story of how Bob Creech and his wife, Florence, convinced him to run for elected office in 1972. He called Bob and Florence "friends from the beginning." Bob Creech (1922-1989) served as Dallas County Democrat Chair for over 20 years. The Dallas County Democrats will host the event on Sunday, April 6 from 2:45-4:30 p.m. in the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School commons, 801 Nile Kinnick Dr. S., Adel. Several local and state-wide candidates will also be on hand. Tickets are $25 per person with children under 16 free. Information on purchasing a ticket may be emailed to dallascountydemocrats@yahoo.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
