In its second year of existence, the riders on the 2018 MinBRRn ride had a much more enjoyable experience than in its inaugural year in 2017. The event takes cyclists on a 24-mile, round-trip bike ride from Mickey’s Irish Pub in Waukee to the Nineteen 14 in Minburn via the Raccoon River Valley Trail.

The temperature was already approaching 50 degrees by 10 a.m. when riders were registering at Mickey’s Irish Pub in Waukee and was nearly 60 degrees by midday.

In 2017, the MinBRRn ride came with snow and ice the night before and sub-zero temperatures the day of and the registration time was even delayed an hour as a result. Many riders even chose to forgo the bike trail and drive to Minburn for food, drinks and live music, but not this year.

With no definitive start time for the ride, bikers moved at their own pace from Waukee to Minburn.
