"At approximately 6:50 p.m. on March 28th, the Washington County Communications Center received a report of a shooting at 106 South Avenue B in Washington," Cara L. Sorrells, 911 supervisor, said Thursday.

"Emergency personnel from the Washington Police Department, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Washington County Ambulance all responded to the residence," she said. "One subject was transported by ambulance (from the scene) to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics."

She said the investigation is being conducted by the Washington Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.

The name and condition of the shooting victim is not being released at this time, she said.

No further information will be released until after the investigation is completed.
