Dallas County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest on Wednesday evening after a suspect led deputies on a motorcycle and foot chase. Zachary Johnson, age 21 of Adel, was arrested and charged with eluding, operation without registration, no insurance, speeding, driving under suspension and two counts of failure to obey stop sign.
According to a news release from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, a Dallas County Deputy attempted to pull over a motorcycle driven by Johnson in the 22000 block of Old Highway 6 for a traffic violation at approximately 7:36 p.m. on June 13. Johnson refused to stop and accelerated away from the Deputy. Johnson turned north on K Avenue, continued on to 280th Street and then turned north on D Avenue before crashing at approximately 7:42 p.m.
Johnson then fled the scene on foot, but was located a short time later and taken into custody by Dallas County Deputies. Johnson did not sustain any injuries from the crash or the arrest.
The motorcycle has been impounded and the investigation is ongoing. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department during the incident.
