The streets of historical Adel were packed Saturday, Aug. 11 as the 39th annual Sweet Corn Festival took place.

The day started out with a 5K run at 8 a.m. with the parade following.

Free corn was given out starting at 11 a.m. until the corn was gone.

Food, art, craft and information vendors were around the square from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The car show took place from noon to 4 p.m. While games for kids were set up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Finally, CTRL C performed at the Community Stage and Pavilion from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Chautauqua performed at the Adel Street Party starting at 6 p.m.
