The Friends of the Perry Public and Minburn Public Libraries have partnered to sponsor a Ride to Read event for children and families on the Raccoon River Valley Bike Trail. Ride to Read is a family bike ride geared toward families with elementary school-aged children. The ride starts at either Forest Park Museum in Perry or the tennis courts in Minburn (parking at Minburn School). Two different books will be read at stations a short distance from each start location of the ride, and guest author Rebecca Janni will read from her book Spin at the mid-point, where refreshments will also be served. In case of rain, the event will be held at the Forest Park Museum.
