Burlington police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man believed to be involved in the stabbing that took place early Sunday in an apartment on Court Street.
According to a press release issued Friday by the Burlington Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division, Kevin Jermaine Jefferson, 36, is wanted on charges of first-degree robbery, a class B felony, in connection with the Sunday incident when Damian Gordon, 36, was stabbed in an apartment at 1005 Court St.
Gordon, who had been arrested for possession of methamphetamine just two days earlier, suffered a serious wound to his face and neck. He was taken to Great River Medical Center in West Burlington for treatment of his injuries.
Information about what is alleged to have been taken has not been released. Lt. Adam Schaefer, a detective with CID, said additional details will be released as they become available.
