3rd Annual Sips and Snacks Holiday Tour

4:30-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 around Van Meter

The Van Meter Community Development Corporation is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Sips and Snacks Holiday Tour on Dec. 7. Tour the local businesses while enjoying food and drinks. Start your tour at the The Law Shop. Tickets are $5 per person and can be picked up at The Law Shop.

Minburn Heated Garage Sale

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Legion Hall, 319 Baker St., Minburn

A heated garage sale will be held on Dec. 8 in Minburn. The proceeds from the sale will benefit the Central Iowa Bible Camp, north of Earlham in Dallas County. Sale items include videos, books, games, stuffed animals, kitchen items, jewelry, tools, sewing items and more.

Woodward Holiday Bazaar

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Social Center, 218 S Main St., Woodward

A Holiday Bazaar will be held on Dec. 8 at the Woodward Social Center. Come do your holiday shopping while supporting small businesses. Vendors include Young Living, Thirty-One, Color Street, Tallhia Designs/Lipsence, Tupperware, Norex, LulaRoe, Paparazzi and more.

Van Meter Chili Feed and Santa

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at American Legion Hall

The Van Meter Firefighter Association will host its Firehouse Chili Feed on Saturday, Dec. 8 at American Legion Hall. Warm up from the cold with chili, cornbread, dessert, coffee, hot chocolate. $5 per person.

The Van Meter Fire Department will be hosting Santa Claus prior to the chili feed. Stop by and see Santa, receive a goody bag and get your picture taken from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Veterans Reception Center, 910 Main St.

A Christmas Carol Tea

2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Waukee Public Library

Join the library for warm tea and tasty delights in celebration of the 175th anniversary of Charles Dickens’ much-loved “A Christmas Carol.” As entertainment, the Top Hat Carolers will be singing all of your favorite carols while dressed in Victorian era costume. High tea finery or Victorian costumes are encouraged but not required. This is an Adult event, however children and teens in 3rd grade and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a guardian. Registration is required. This event is sponsored by the Waukee Public Library Friends Foundation. Registration will begin three weeks before the event.

Hometown Christmas

4-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 down Walnut Street in Dallas Center
