GRIMES – Shade Tree Auto will host Adam’s Warriors Grand Prix from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7 at Pole Position Raceway in Grimes. Proceeds from the event will help cover medical expenses for Adam Dreeszen, a technician who was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer last year.
“Adam never complains,” said Clint Dudley of Shade Tree Auto. “He even kept his wedding date last fall, despite being in the middle of treatments. We wanted to do something that would help him and Kaylee through a difficult time.”
Businesses like State Farm, NAPA, Charter Bank and Midwest Exclusives have already shown their support for the race.
“We immediately saw a number of local businesses that want to help sponsor the event,” Dudley said. “The message is that Adam isn’t going through this alone, we’re here to support him.”
Admission is free and open to the public, with open racing from 6-7 p.m., followed by an 8-person Grand Prix. Open races can be purchased for $25 at the event, with limited Grand Prix spots available for $60. Contact Clint Dudley or Dustin Klein at Shade Tree Auto to reserve races or to help sponsor the event.
There’s no cost for cheering on your favorite racer and everyone is encouraged to attend. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, as well as T-shirts and caps, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Adam’s medical bills.
