The Wreaths Across America recovery event at Iowa Veterans Cemetery has been postponed due to weather.
Dr. Suess Make and Take Party
9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 2 at Granger Public Library.
The Granger Public Library is hosting a Dr. Suess Make and Take Party on Saturday, March 2. The party will include activities, crafts a snack. A free book will also be handed out to the first 20 children.
Van Meter Visioning Committee Focus Groups
9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at Van Meter School, 520 First Ave.
Van Meter has been chosen to participate in this year’s Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning Program. The visioning committee will host three focus groups on March 2. The focus group from 9-10 a.m. will be for older adults and mobility impaired. The second group, from 10:15:15-11:15 a.m., is for parents and youth. The last group from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. is for active recreation users. The Dallas County Conservation Board has postponed the Voas Stewardship Day scheduled for March 2.
Local History Series
1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Waukee Public Library.
In partnership with the Waukee Area Historical Society and sponsored by Heartland Co-op, the Waukee Public Library is proud to present this Local Series History Series program. Rod Stanley will present the first program, Minburn Singing Wheels Roller Skaters, on March 3. From 1950 to 1963 major musicals were performed on roller skates right here in Dallas County. Come learn about the Cadets and Starettes of the Singing Wheels of Minburn!
Introduction to Star Gazing - Winter Constellations
7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Kuehn Conservation Area.
Join the Dallas County Conservation Board on a stargazing program on March 5. We will teach you how to build and read a star chart, measure distances in the sky and how to find and identify the major constellations in the winter sky before going outside to read a few star stories. Waukee 2019 Legislative Coffee
9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at Waukee City Hall, 230 W Hickman Rd.
The 2019 Waukee Legislative Coffees will be held on March 9 and April 6. Waukee State Senator Charles Schneider and State Representative Kenan Judge will speak to Waukee residents and the Chamber membership about what is happening at the state level and offer the opportunity to ask questions.
