The Dallas County Auditor’s office recently digitized many of their historic records and have provided access to them 24/7/365 through the county website.

Julia Helm, Dallas County Auditor, would like to invite the public to an open house where the electronic access to the online land records will be demonstrated. The open house will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at 210 N 10th St., Adel.

Dallas County used the Cott Systems Online Land Records, a technology company that scanned the older transfer books and historical plats and rendered those images online, just as they appear in the original books. Cott Systems, Inc., since 1888, with representatives in Iowa and throughout the United States, provided digitizing and software expertise to the county for this project.

To access these records, go to the Auditor’s real estate page on the county website and click on http://cotthosting.com/IADallasExternal/LandRecords/protected/SrchQuickName.aspx.

Once there, click on Historical Records/Transfers/Plats to access the specific Auditor’s office documents.
