WAUKEE — The Waukee Public Library will soon begin offering free Conversational English sessions. Beginning Thursday, April 4, Conversational English will be held at 10 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays of every month. The sessions will be guided by a trained volunteer from the Iowa International Center. English language learners of all levels are encouraged to attend for a fun, relaxed hour of English practice.
“We are so excited to work with the Iowa International Center to offer these sessions,” said Waukee Adult Services Librarian Alex Coggeshell. “We aim to ensure that our library is welcoming and accessible to all members of the Waukee community and beyond, and that means offering programs and services which meet a variety of needs and interests. It’s great to be able to connect with, and serve, English language learners on a higher level.”
Beginning in September, evening sessions will also be added to the line-up. The additional Conversational English sessions will be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. All sessions will be held at the Waukee Public Library, located at 950 Warrior Lane in Waukee.
All English as a Second Language learners are welcome at the Conversational English sessions. No advance registration or preparation is required.
