Community members of Adel will come together and host a candlelight vigil on Monday, Aug. 5 for victims of recent gun violence and mass shootings. This comes in wake of the Gilroy, El Paso and Dayton mass shootings in the recent week. Community members apart of the faith, business, government, as well as citizens within Adel, are putting together this event.
The vigil will take place at 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 on the south lawn/steps of the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel. Local community members will talk, offer prayers, light candles and release memorials for recent mass shooting locations and offer resources to people regarding gun violence, mental health and other resources.
This event is free and open to the public.
