Area schools, including Dallas Center-Grimes, Van Meter and Waukee are all celebrating homecoming this week.

Van Meter crowned its homecoming royalty during a coronation ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 22. Patrick Junker and Natalie Barth were named the 2019 king and queen. The homecoming court included Breanna Parkins, Audrey Gruss, Cari Walton, Maddie Beschen, Brett Berg, Ian Abrahamson, Anthony Potthoff and Blade Koons.

Dallas Center-Grimes held its coronation ceremony after the homecoming parade on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Dallas Center. The queen candidates included Sarah Frett, Kamryn O'Brien, Eliza Ewalt, Lani Gannon, Molly Cooney. and Riley Hall The king candidates were Tristan Bocook, Jamie Agusma, Cole Wessling, Cody Hall, Tyler Lindsey and Isaac Boley. Sarah Frett and Tristan Bocook were crowned as the 2019 queen and king.

Waukee also held the coronation ceremony after the community parade on Sept. 26. The coronation ceremony was held inside Waukee High School Stadium. The king candidates included Will Keck, Zach Nigg, Cole Spyksma, Marvin Truong and Josh Weber. The queen candidates were Katie Carlson, Reece Harmsen, Allison Holloway, Kenzie Kroll, Jada Spooner and Grace Terhark. Cole Spyksma and Reece Harmsen were crowned as the 2019 king and queen.
