A breakfast will be served on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Bouton Community Center. The all-you-can-eat menu includes sausage, ham, eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, toast, coffee, milk and orange juice. Adults are $7 and children ages 5-12 are $5. Children under five eat free. Bake sale items will also be available.
Nature Play Day: Rock Day
10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Snyder Tract, N. Raccoon River Wildlife Area, SW of Minburn off Minburn Road on west side of river.
The Dallas County Conservation Board (DCCB) will host a Nature Play Day on Oct. 5. Find treasures, build a cairn, skip a stone, find a lucky rock (one with a hole in it) or a whistle rock (ask Cindy). Come with a bucket to keep your treasures, and wear shoes than can get wet. Pork Loin Supper
5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Washington Township School.
The annual pork loin supper will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Washington Township School, located at the corner of P-58 and F-31, seven miles south of Perry. The menu will include pork loin, cheesey potatoes, special greenbeans, roll, bars and drink. A free-will donation will be taken.
Adult Wilderness Trek 2020 Planning Meeting
7:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Kuehn Conservation Area.
Potential trekkers for the DCCB Adult Wilderness Backpacking Trek of 2020, this is your third invitation to learn of this unique opportunity. The One Small Step- Wilderness event will engage you in a walking conversation, sauntering about the trails at Kuehn. In addition to getting an exposure to hiking, participants will have the opportunity to quiz the trek leaders with any questions they have concerning their acceptance of DCCB’s Wilderness invitation. Our walkabout will end around a campfire, where the application process and timeline for the 2020 Trek will be shared.
Woodward-Granger Homecoming Parade, Coronation
5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 at Woodward Main Street, Woodward-Granger High School Gym.
Woodward-Granger will continue its homecoming week with the parade. The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. and will travel down Woodward’s main street. A meal will be served by the booster club at 6 p.m. The coronation ceremony and pep rally will be held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

The Dallas County Hospital Senior Expo returns on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the second floor atrium of the hospital. The free event is open all community members.
