AMES — Iowa State University announces scholarships awarded by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and its academic units to undergraduate students for the 2019-20 academic year.


Local recipients include:


Spencer Collins of Adel, who is studying Agricultural Studies, received the CALS Student Recruitment and Dwight and Marilyn Conover Freshman Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Erica Baier of Adel, who is studying Agriculture and Life Sciences Education, received the Kenneth R. and Evelyn Askelsen Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Mckenzie Von Rentzell of Earlham, who is studying Animal Science, received the Arthur Molln Scholarship In Animal Science and Fred Foreman Scholarship for Growth in Leadership Participation for the 2019-20 academic year.


Rowan Collins of Grimes, who is studying Agricultural Studies, received the Future of Agriculture and Life Sciences Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Kylie South of Linden, who is studying Agriculture and Life Sciences Education, received the C.R. Musser ISU Agricultural Endowment Transfer Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Dalena Rogers of Linden, who is studying Global Resource Systems, received the Global Resource Systems Major Fund and Duane Hinkle Agriculture Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Justin Rolfes of Redfield, who is studying Agricultural Studies, received the Frank E. and Dorothy Clark Agriculture Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Emma Davis of Van Meter, who is studying Biology, received the Tyrone D. Artz, M.D. Scholarship in Agriculture and Life Sciences for the 2019-20 academic year.


Hannah Wood of Waukee, who is studying Animal Ecology, received the Brian Vincent Memorial Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Ashley Tibbs of Waukee, who is studying Agriculture and Society, received the Global Resource Systems Freshman Scholarship, the World Food Prize Scholarship and the Agriculture General Transfer Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Mark Heggen of Waukee, who is studying Biochemistry, received the Donald J. Graves Undergraduate Research Scholarship and Elinor L. Fehr and Walter R. Fehr Endowed Scholarship for the 2019-20 academic year.


Makayla Genck of Waukee, who is studying Animal Science, received the World Food Prize Scholarships for the 2019-20 academic year.


Logan Cinnamon of Waukee, who is studying Forestry, received the George and Dorothy Thomson Scholarship and Awards Endowment for the 2019-20 academic year.


More than $3.5 million in student scholarships are offered each year by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and its academic units, in addition to monies awarded by Iowa State at the university level.


The application for College of Agriculture and Life Sciences scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year is currently open. The priority deadline for students who will be new freshmen in the fall of 2020 is Dec. 1, 2019. For new students that will be transferring in and for students who are currently enrolled, the deadline is March 2, 2020.
