Kathy Kay Scott Spoon, at the age of 76, passed away at home in Spring, Texas at 4:45 a.m. on Oct. 22 2017.
Kathy is predeceased by Mary and Clarence Keltner.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Merle E. Spoon of 57 years. They were married in Redfield Iowa, on July 1, 1961 in her Grandmother Hill’s home.
Kathy is lovingly remembered by her son, Steven E. Spoon, her daughter, Brenda, and her four grandchildren Ashlunn Spoon, Wyatt Spoon, Emma and Kelcie Roberts as well as other relatives and friends.
Kathy was born in Redfield, Iowa on March 4, 1941. She graduated from Redfield High School in 1959 and went on to continue her education at airline school in Omaha, Nebraska.
Kathy was a woman of many talents and interests. She worked for Bankers life, Skelly Oil, Perry State Bank, and Joy & Pofenbuger Law Office. She earned her Real Estate License in 1983 and went on to selling real estate for Inman Real Estate. Kathy also ran her own ceramic shop for over 10 years.
In 1990 Kathy and her loving husband moved to Humble, Texas, where she went on to working as a billing clerk at Humble Urgent Care. Her family was the most important thing to her. She was the president of the PTA from 1976-1977 in Perry, Iowa. She also joined B.P.O. DOES where she earned a National Appointment for DOES in Hawaii. Her role as a wife, mother and grandmother, was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s swim meets, baseball games and other family gatherings. She was a friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
There will be plans made for a memorial service in Redfield, Iowa during the summer of 2018.
