Dale Evan LeMaster, 65, died on June 9, 2013 from COPD at Hospice Taylor House in Des Moines, IA. Dale was born in Des Moines on January 13, 1948, the son of Irene and Donald LeMaster.

Dale grew up east of Granger on the family farm. He graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 1966. Dale was a farmer all his life, living east of Granger on a family farm. Also, he was in the Iowa National Guard for six years after high school. Dale had a good sense of humor, enjoyed listening to music, wrote poetry, loved to solve crossword puzzles and to travel.

Dale is survived by his wife of ten years, Ann Brown; two sons, Lonny LeMaster of Granger and Wade LeMaster of Madrid; his brother, William LeMaster of Granger; his previous wife, Roberta LeMaster of Granger; four grandchildren, Landon, Faith, Evan and Brett; and one great-granddaughter.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Granger. Dale’s wishes were to be cremated with burial in the Woodward Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Taylor House or the Animal Rescue League.
