Primghar - Gregory Scott Putney, 52, of Primghar formerly of Redfield passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at MercyONE Medical Center in Sioux City. The family will host a celebration of Scott's life at 1 P.M. on Sunday, March 13th at the Redfield Legion Hall. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Scott, as he was better known to family and friends, was born on October 24, 1969 to Clifford and Donna (King) Putney in Guthrie Center, Iowa. Scott grew up in Redfield and attended Dexfield Schools. Following his schooling, he lived in several places before lastly moving to Primghar. He loved music, playing guitar, listening to KGGO, old country music and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles..

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Donna; maternal and paternal grandparents; nephew, Dustin Leaf and great-niece, Natalie Love.

Scott leaves behind his siblings, Pam Leaf of Columbia, Missouri, Paula Kuhns of Redfield, Penny (Bill) Freestone of Adel, Raymond Putney of Adel, Robert Putney of Adel, Dennis (Laura) Putney of Des Moines, Christopher Putney of Redfield and Connie (Peter) Baker of Redfield; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
