Donna Crouse, 93, went to her eternal home in heaven on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday, June 10th at Iles Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, June 11th at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church (1701 W. Jester Park Dr. in Polk City). Burial will follow at Bass Point Cemetery, north of Boone on Monarch Road.

Donna was born August 31, 1928 in Fraser, Iowa to Thomas and Geneva (Johnson) Ingalls. She graduated from Boone High School in 1946, then went on to attend Iowa Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls (now UNI). Donna taught in a one-room schoolhouse in rural Ridgeport, before marrying Fred W. Crouse.

Fred and Donna were married June 5, 1949. They lived and worked on their farm together, raising their four sons, Steve, Matt, Sam and Bart. They loved attending their sons’ sporting activities and enjoyed many family outings camping and fishing. Donna tenderly cared for Fred during his many years of Illness, until his death in 1983.

Donna lived in Dallas Center area for over 60 years. She worked as a Lab Technician for Pioneer Hi-Bred international, retiring in 2008. Donna enjoyed her later years spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Donna loved gardening, baking fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies and providing all things her rural home had to offer. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and participating Women’s Bible Study and Prayer Group.

Survivors include her sons, Stephen and wife Jana of College Station, TX, their children; Heather (Kevin) Hodge, Shauna (Mark) Alexander, and Melissa (David) Hollon. Matthew and wife Diane of Eldora, their children; Sarai Majak, Jason (Jessica) Crouse and Roscoe Crouse. Samuel and wife Jan of Atwood, KS, their children; Max (Sydney) Mickunas, Will Crouse, Amy Crouse, the late Ben Crouse and Peter Crouse. Bart and wife Michele of Dallas Center, their children; Kayla, Kurt, Kara, Kaitlyn and Kristyn Crouse.

Also surviving are her great grandchildren; Austin, Nathan and Ty Hodge, Kylie and Andrew Alexander, James, Luke, and William Hollon, Eion Crouse, Majak, Kira and Abram Majak, Zach, Kinsey, and Chloe Crouse, Hayle and Bryce Mullins and a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Ingalls.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; siblings: William Ingalls, Delbert Ingalls, Mary Lou Mattiussi; and grandson, Ben Crouse.
