Before former A-D-M and DMACC softball star Molly Jacobsen ships off to Mississippi to play softball for the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) next fall, the star received a few awards.

Earlier this week DMACC recognized two softball stars including Jacobsen and Van Meter High School graduate, Bailey Richards. Jacobsen and Richards have been the ultimate pitcher, catcher combo and both were named to the first team NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) All-American Division Two softball team. The pair was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American team as well as the NFCA All-Midwest Region softball team.

Jacobsen herself received the NJCAA Division Two Female Athlete of the Year Award and was presented the award by DMACC athletic director BJ McGinn. The two-time All-American had a 26-2 record with a 0.47 earned run average, led the NJCAA in strikeouts with 312 and was one of DMACC’s top hitters compiling a .420 batting average with a .495 on-base percentage and a .648 slugging percentage.
