As the Dallas Center-Grimes volleyball team gets ready to take on conference foe Indianola on the road tonight, they reflect on what was an outstanding continuation of their season in a five match weekend sweep on Saturday, September 15.

It was quite the spectacle to watch as Class 4A’s third ranked Fillies slice and dice their way through five matches and only faltering in two of the 11 total sets played. The only two set losses the Fillies suffered over the weekend came against Bondurant-Farrar and Pella Christian. DC-G still managed to pull ahead in both games and won by 2-1 finals. The Fillies then proceeded to rattle off three straight two set sweeps over Nevada, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, and Gilbert.

That brings the Fillies up to yet another perfect record of 17-0, by far the best start ever in Dallas Center-Grimes volleyball history. The Fillies will now be taking on Class 5A’s eleventh ranked Indianola. Tonight’s match-up will be the two year tie breaker between the two teams who have split the season series each of the past two years. Things will get started with the ninth grade and JV contests beginning at 4:45 p.m. followed by the varsity contest.
