As the weather changes, the W-G Cross Country team continues to adjust and compete successfully. The Hawks most recent meet was on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Waukee where the girls placed sixth overall out of nine teams and the boys placed seventh out of eight teams.

The first W-G runner to finish from the girls team was Josie Noland who came in at 39th with a time of 24:30 followed by Posey and Robinson immediately after her teammate and placed 40th with a time of 24:38. Sticking close to her other two teammates was Bella Milosevich who finished 41st in the race with a time of 25:11.

Ava Petersen was the next to finish with just one competitor between her and the other Hawks as she finished 43rd in 25:34 followed by Natalie Helbling who was the 46th overall finisher with a time of 25:45. Sydney Grell and Chloe David finished 51st and 52nd with individual times that were relatively close at 26:38 and 26:56.

The total time for the seven W-G runners on the girls team came in at 2:05:38 with 209 total places.

The top seven finishers from the W-G boys team began with Trevor Faltonson who finished at 38th place overall with a time of 19:10. Alex Bice placed 41st in the boys race with a time of 19:36 followed immediately by Dylan Steel at 42nd place in 19:43.

45th place went to Xavier Ibarra who finished with a time of 20:37 and 49th went to Noah Gleason who had a time of 21:44. Kurt Crouse and Nick Buch finished at 51st and 52nd with individual times of 22:26 and 23:21. Total time for these Hawks came out at 1:40:50 with 215 total places.

Woodward-Granger was scheduled to run at Nodaway Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 2, but the competition was cancelled due to weather. The next race for the Hawks will be on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Panorama High School beginning at 4 p.m.
