It was another night of solid basketball for the ADM boys’ and girl’s basketball teams Friday night as both teams took wins on the road against Winterset.

Inside Mel Penrod Gymnasium, the Tiger boys’ captured win number two on the season with a 63-48 victory while the Tiger girls’ captured their fourth win with a 55-42 win.

In the girls’ contest, the Tigers held a strong scoring offense to just 18 second half points while notching 25 first half points of their own. That balanced attack kept up in the second half, outscoring Winterset 12-10 in quarter three, while taking an 18-14 advantage in the fourth quarter. Delaney Bertman had another night to remember, capturing her second 20 point game with exactly 20 points against the Huskies. Bertman was perfect from the field going seven-of-seven from field goal range and six-of-ten from the free throw line. Abbie Hlas chipped in 13 points to the winning cause, also going perfect from field goal range connecting on all six of her shots and her only three point attempt. Senior Emma Jacobsen added in eight points as well.

The Tiger boys followed up the victorious performance by the ADM girls with a strong performance of their own. It was actually an ominous start for the Tigers who ended the first quarter down 17-9 but the offense came alive from there on out, eventually acquiring their second straight double digit victory over a conference opponent. Sophomore Nate Mueller topped the Tiger lineup with 25 points scored, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Senior sharp shooter Koby Hardcastle pitched in 12 points to go along with a four rebound night.

The ADM girls basketball team improves their record to 4-1 on the season while the Tiger boys improve to 2-1. The Tiger girls resume competitive action on Monday, December 10 in a non-conference match-up against Coon Rapids-Bayard on the road. As for the ADM boys, they will pick things back up on Tuesday, December 11 with another home conference contest against Carlisle.
