Four Lady Tiger basketball stars were recognized with All-Raccoon River Conference honors recently.
ADM had one first team selection, one second team selection, and two honorable mention selections. The two honorable mention honors went to senior Emma Jacobsen and sophomore Aniston Smith. The second team All-Conference honor went to junior Delaney Bertman while fellow junior Abbie Hlas claimed a first team All-Conference honor.
In terms of the honorable mention honorees, Jacobsen and Smith were two key pieces to what has been one of the more successful seasons to date (15-9 overall, 9-5 in RRC). Jacobsen, a future DMACC basketball star, posted a 7.8 points per game scoring average this season and was ADM’s top three point shooter with 45 made three point shots. The senior broke her own school record for most three point shots made in a single game with six back in early February against Bondurant-Farrar. Smith also played a strong role averaging 4.6 points per game, shooting 27.8 percent from the three point arc, and accumulated 29 total steals which ranked fourth on the ADM roster.
Delaney Bertman earned a second consecutive All-Conference honor in well deserving fashion. Along with posting a 12 points per game scoring average, Bertman shot 46.2 percent from the field and ranked third across the entire conference in total rebounds with 152, giving her an average of eight rebounds per contest. Bertman was also quite efficient from the charity stripe with a conference second best 84 made free throws.
ADM’s first team selection in Abbie Hlas had quite the breakout season. Hlas led the Tigers with 14.6 points per game this season on 46.9 percent shooting from the field. Hlas was an all around player who led ADM in free throw percentage at 70.3 while also leading in assists and steals with 71 in each category. Hlas breached the top four in the conference in both categories.
