Behind a 39 kill, 36 dig performance against Bondurant-Farrar, the ADM Tiger volleyball team captured their fifth conference win of the season in a four-set shootout over the Lady Bluejays.
The win for the Tigers helps prove a narrative for ADM to look past their now 10-17 overall record and see a newly minted 5-2 conference record which officially lands the Tigers second within Raccoon River Conference play. Only Carroll has bested ADM in conference record on the season at 7-0.
As for the match-up at Bondurant-Farrar High School, ADM’s four-set win started out with a rather smooth 25-13 opening set win. Mental miscues led to the script being flipped in set two where the Tigers fell hard 25-12. The team got back on track with a late surge in set three 25-17 which led to the nail-biting set four win 25-23. A big contribution on the night came from senior Delaney Bertman who led the team with 20 assists on the night while earning 24 of the teams’ 79 successful serves for the contest. Josi Lonneman captured a season second-best mark of 24 kills on the night, blowing right by her nine-kills per match average. The senior also delivered on six digs while going eight-of-ten from the serving line with a pair of aces.
Leading in the digs category once again was fellow senior Abbie Hlas with 16 to give her a total of 324 which currently ranks third across the entire Raccoon River Conference. Hlas was the only Tiger to go unblemished on the night with one of her season-best 20 successful serves out of 20 attempts. For her efforts, the senior also picked up two aces along the way.
Next up for the conference runner up, Tigers will take on postseason play where they will travel to Harlan on Wednesday, Oct. 23
