The official race part of the cross country season may be over, but the accolades continue to roll in, especially for five area athletes.

The Iowa high school coaches association recently released their Academic All-State list and residing on the list was Bradley Ramsey of Dallas Center-Grimes, Tyler Stallman of Waukee, Jessica Caraway and Emma Shepard, also of Waukee, and Emily Hlas of ADM.

In order to earn the distinguished award, student-athletes must meet four specific requirements. The first being that the individual must be a senior. The individual must obtain a 3.8 or higher cumulative grade point average. They must also have obtained a cumulative score of 28 or higher on the ACT. The final requirement is that the individual must be a state Coed Meet qualifier or finish in the top 30 at a state qualifying meet during the year of application.
