The A-D-M girls’ softball team rallied from a 10-2 deficit, but came up short in a 10-8 loss to Earlham on Tuesday.
The Tigers scored twice in the fifth inning, then pulled to within two runs with a grand slam from Caitlyn Gruening in the sixth.
Kenzi Sutton doubled and drove in three runs for the Tigers, who also dropped a 3-2 decision to Earlham at last weekend’s tournament in Winterset. Montanna Popp doubled and drove in one run.
A-D-M beat Carroll 7-6 in 10 innings on May 22, getting a walk-off single from Taylor Boorn for the team’s first victory of the season. Carroll led by two going into the sixth inning, and A-D-M sent the game to extras with single runs in the sixth and seventh.
Gabbie Glenn walked twice, stole four bases and was one of six Tigers with two hits.
Sutton doubled and Jessica Wyant, Lexi Wyant and Hannah Tiffany drove in runs.
Kate Collins pitched all 10 innings for the Tigers, surrendering two earned runs on 12 hits and striking out six.
