Race Brant recorded two falls and a major decision to win the 145-pound title at the North Polk Invitational on Dec. 21.

Brant recorded two pins in his first two matches, then beat Hudson’s Joe Hageman 15-6 in the finale. With the trio of victories, Brant improved his record this season to 17-2.

Colton Milosevich, ranked sixth in Class 2A, finished second at 120. He had two pins before losing by fall in the finale to Taylan Entriken of Hudson, his first loss in 18 matches this season.

Tanner Vermaas finished third at 152, while Kaleb Noel was fourth at 126. Also wrestling, but not placing, were Josh Keubler and Aaron Sperling.

W-G finished seventh in the team standings. The Hawks wrestle again at home on Jan. 9.
