The Woodward-Granger girls’ basketball team’s season came to an end on Tuesday night with a loss to Des Moines Christian. The Hawks lost in the quarterfinals by a score of 45-39.
Katelynn Major led the Hawks in the scoring column as she had 13 points in the game. Abby Hansen was also in double digits scoring 10 points for the Hawks.
If the Hawks would’ve won they would’ve played Van Meter in the regional semifinals on Friday but weren’t able to pull out the victory.
The Hawks advanced to the quarterfinals and pulled their overall season record to 11-11 on Feb. 13 on their home court. The Hawks beat Pleasantville in the first round of the regional tournamemt 60-26.
Major went 7-of-12 from the floor and led the Hawks in scoring with 14 points in the game. She also pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Abby Musser, a junior, had a double-double recording 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting and 11 assists in the victory. She also tied with Tory Manning for a team-high four steals. Manning also had six rebounds, tying for a team-high with Hansen, who scored just three points in the game.
