The Waukee softball team went 3-for-3 at a tournament in Iowa City on June 29.

The Warriors beat North Scott 6-2, Iowa City High 12-0 and Oskaloosa 10-0.

Kylie Mickelson was 2-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs against North Scott, and struck out six in the pitcher’s circle, allowing two runs on four hits. Taylor Luther and Callie Feaker each had two hits.

Shaye Witte went 2-for-2 with three RBIs against City High, and Miranda Tiefenthaler added two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Feaker was also 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Kaitlyn Menz struck out four, allowing just two walks in three innings and Sarah Schaefer pitched a scoreless fourth inning.

Mickelson continued her strong day with two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs against Oskaloosa. She also picked up the win with three hits and three strikeouts in five innings. Feaker added two hits and Mary Kate Gray scored twice.

Waukee also swept Urbandale 1-0 and 10-3 on the road June 26. Feaker singled home Abby Krantz in the first inning of game one, and Menz held the J-Hawks to just one hit while striking out 12 in seven innings.

Mickelson, Menz and Schaefer combined for nine strikeouts in game two. Feaker homered and both Luther and Tiefenthaler had two hits apiece.

Waukee also split a doubleheader at Southeast Polk on Monday, dropping the first game 5-1 but rallying for an 8-4 win in game two. Feaker had three hits, including two doubles, and drove in three in the second game. Dudek had two hits and an RBI.
