DCCB hosting Eagle Watch at Saylorville

Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting an Eagle Watch on Sunday, February 22 from noon to 4 p.m. at Saylorville Lake.

Come watch the eagles soar around Saylorville Lake. Few bird watching experiences can make your heart soar like viewing an eagle gracing the Iowa sky. The open waters below the dam at the Saylorville Reservoir create feeding opportunities that congregate central Iowa’s winter eagles and almost guarantee you a chance to view an eagle. Begin your tour at the Saylorville Lake Visitor Center. The tour will include a theater show and an eagle aptitude test at the close; and an eagle presentation at Jester Park Lodge. Pick up your Eagle Watch Passports at any of the stops and drop off your completed passport at your last stop for a chance to win prizes! The Saylorville Lake Visitor Center is located on the east end of the dam, off Highway 415 on Horseshoe Road.

This program is a joint effort between DCCB and the Corps of Engineers
