Twisted Street Party

6 p.m. - 12 a.m. Friday, July 24 at Twisted Corn Tavern, Dallas Center.

Join Twisted Corn Tavern and South of Society for a wicked night of good food and good friends. Twisted Corn will be serving beers and pulled pork in the street. Sugar Grove Goods will also be open extended hours during the street party and Korner Kone will be open until 9:30 p.m. It’s a can’t miss night on the town to enjoy a little bit of summer!

Yoga in the Park

8 a.m. Saturday, July 25 at Windfield Park, Waukee.

Join local, certified yoga instructors for Yoga in the Park this summer! Bring a yoga mat or towel to Windfield Park. Yoga sessions will take place from 8-9 a.m. This program is recommended for anyone 8 years and older. The cost is $2 per person.

Yoga in the Park

Yoga in the Park is designed for improving community health, energizing and relaxation. You are encouraged to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water and clothes you can move in. No registration for the class is required, just show up ready to relax, release and enjoy. Yoga in the Park will be held at 8 a.m. through Aug. 22. *No Class Aug. 8 due to 141 Sale.

Yoga in the Van Meter Park

9 a.m. Saturday, July 25 and 5 p.m. Monday, July 27 at Van Meter City Park, 505 Grant St.

Van Meter Parks and Recreation and Van Meter Public Library Foundation are sponsoring Yoga in the Park on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. and Monday afternoons at 5 p.m. through Aug. 17. Bring your own mat (or towel) and water. All ages and skill levels welcome. There is no cost to attend. The yoga instructors include Erin Bemis, with Kula Yoga, and Margo Sucko, with Twisted Yoga 108.

Movie in the Park

The Adel Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Movie in the Park on July 25. “Toy Story 4” will be shown for free in Evans Park. Community members are encouraged to bring their own blankets, chairs and snacks. No popcorn will be provided because of COVID-19. Social distancing guidelines should be followed.

Adel Community Blood Drive

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 29 at Lincoln Savings Bank, 312 Nile Kinnick Drive S.

LifeServe Blood Center is asking community members to book an appointment to give blood at an upcoming area blood drive on July 29 in Adel. To help ensure the safety of blood donors and team members during this COVID-19 pandemic, LifeServe is enforcing several precautionary measures. Appointments are required. Donors who do not have an appointment will not be able to give blood. Blood donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments. Only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate. Blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment.
