Donnabelle (Allen) Schabilion, 93, of Mesa Arizona, formerly from Van Meter, passed away July 25 at Heritage Village LTC. Per Donnabelle wishes, she was cremated with no celebration of life services.

Donnabelle Hagg was born December 11, 1926, the 3rd child born to Emil and Gladys (Madison) Hagg. She grew up in Adel and attended Adel school. After school she worked in Des Moines in different capacities.

Donnabelle married Oral Allen of Van Meter; to this union 3 daughters were born. Diana (Rick) Emerson, Linda (Jim) Marquardt, and Rhonda (Dennis) Rausch. Donnabelle worked at Van Meter School as School Cafeteria Manager. She sold Avon Products for 30+ years and was girls 4H leader and also taught Sunday and Bible school in Van Meter. She exhibited her baking and candy making at the Iowa State Fair, where she won several ribbons (some Blue).

On March 31, 1972 Donnabelle married Dan Schabilion. In 1985 they moved to Mesa, Arizona. There they both volunteered at Mesa General Hospital for 19+ years and later at Mesa Lutheran Thrift store. During their years in Iowa they traveled to Germany, England, Korea, Japan and Ireland with the Iowa Friendship Force. They also sailed to many Caribbean Islands and Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her first husband,Oral: husband, Dan of 44 years; her parents, Emil and Gladys Hagg, 1 baby brother, siblings, Eleanor Marquardt, Kate (Robert) Carr, Emil Jr. (Alice) Hagg, Charlene (Harold) Kellow, step-son Dan Schabilion, nephews, Harold Jr. Kellow, Dwaine Hagg.

Donnabelle is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands, step-son Bill, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother-in-law Gordon Marquardt, sister-in-law Velma Schleier, nieces and nephews.
