Area soccer teams have home-field advantage

A-D-M, Dallas Center-Grimes and Waukee will all boast home-field advantage when the girls’ soccer postseason begins later this month.

The Tigers, in Class 2A Region 3, will open play against either Chariton or Norwalk on May 28 at 6 p.m. in Adel. The winner will face either Nodaway Valley/West Central Valley/Adair-Casey or Glenwood in the regional final, also in Adel, on June 3.

The Fillies will play host to either Boone or Des Moines North on May 28 in Grimes, with the winner facing either Knoxville, Indianola or Des Moines Hoover in the same location on June 3.

Waukee will square off against Ottumwa in a Class 3A Region 4 matchup on May 29 in Waukee. The winner will advance to face either Southeast Polk or West Des Moines Valley on June 3, also in Waukee.

All thee schools reached the state tournament last season. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union this year moved the tournament location to Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines from Muscatine.
