Van Meter bounces back against Ogden

After losing a crushing 61-26 game against Panorama on the road on Friday, Jan. 30, the Van Meter girls’ basketball team bounced back and beat Ogden by a score of 58-43 at Ogden High School on Tuesday.

Against Panorama, however, it was the Bulldogs’ first game without their leading scorer, Mackenzie Roberts and they struggled to put points on the board against the No. 7 team in Class 2A losing by 35 at Panorama High School.

There were no Bulldogs with double-digit scoring totals in the game and they were led by senior Nicole Meyer, who went 2-for-3 from the field and had six points. Sophomores Bailey Junge and Ellie Folkerts had five points each.

Meyer and Folkerts also tied for a team-high seven rebounds against the Panthers while CJ Jones dished out two assists to go along with her three points.

Chelsea Bright was only 1-of-7 from the field for two points, but dished out a team-high two assists while also recording a team-high two steals.

The Bulldogs are on the road for the third-straight game on Friday when they travel to Guthrie Center. The Bulldogs take on Guthrie Center at 6 p.m.
