Bulldogs Remain in Third After Loss to Pottsboro, Win Against Callisburg
With four games left to play, the Howe Bulldogs (19-8, 7-3) sit right in the middle of District 10-3A, two games ahead of fourth and two games back of first and second. After falling at Pottsboro on Jan. 30, the Bulldogs rebounded with a 57-46 home victory over Callisburg Tuesday night.
Griffin Underwood continued to score well with 16 points while Levi Mrozinski added 14. The Bulldogs trailed 16-10 after one and 24-20 at halftime but came out the second half and completely dominated with a 36-22 effort behind a packed house during “Neon Night” where all the students wore neon-colored shirts.
Sitting at two games back of Ponder and Whitesboro for first and second, the Bulldogs will take on the pair in the next two games, looking to avenge a loss to both earlier in the season.

Despite Underwood’s 19 points, the Bulldogs were completely off-guard in their 10-point loss Jan. 30. Howe couldn’t seem to find a rhythm, trailing for the entire game with the exception of the first half of the opening quarter.
Pottsboro used a 15-0 run which seemed to put the game away in the first half. The Bulldogs tried to come back but the Cardinals would always answer them. Kehrer added 13 points while Mrozinski had four points and a team-high eight rebounds.
