Waukee girls on four-game win streak, beat Fort Dodge

Waukee girls’ basketball continues to succeed this season. The team has a 10-2 record, and that includes four straight wins.

On Friday, Jan. 15, the Warriors traveled to Fort Dodge and left with a dominant victory. Waukee beat the home team 69-37. Getting off to an early lead was a crucial part of the team’s success. In the first quarter, Waukee outscored Fort Dodge 16-6. The second quarter also went in the Warriors favor with a 20-12 score.

The team was able to build such a strong lead behind the offense of senior Reilly Jacobson, who posted 23 points in the game on 9-of-15 shooting. Jacobson also pulled down six rebounds and swatted five blocks.

Starter Carlie Littlefield helped out with 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. Littlefield was excellent from the free throw line, going 7-of-8.

Additional contributions came from Andie Mataloni and Kylie Coleman. Mataloni scored nine points and grabbed seven boards. Coleman put up seven points and two assists.

The warriors will look to continue their success this Friday against Southeast Polk.
