VM keeps winning

Van Meter girls’ basketball remains nearly unstoppable. In the past week, the Bulldogs defeated Woodward-Granger and West Central Valley. Both victories came with wide margins.

Mackenzie Roberts continues to have an impressive season, and she led VM with 26 points in the 62-35 win over W-G. The junior also added five boards and four assists.

Freshman Emily Roberts scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-5 from deep. Chelsea Bright contributed six points, and CJ Jones scored five in the victory.

Against West Central Valley, the Bulldogs bounced back from a weak first quarter and won the game 56-36.

Roberts scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied three steals in the road win. CJ Jones helped offensively with 16 points, including four three-pointers.

VM will take on Panorama next at home this Friday.
