Van Meter baseball dominates AC/GC, again

On June 20, the Van Meter Bulldogs baseball team played the AC/GC Chargers. The Bulldogs dominated the Chargers with a 16-0 win in just five innings.

Junior JJ Durflinger led the Bulldogs against the Chargers. Durflinger finished the game with three hits, a double, he was walked to base once and had two RBIs. He also scored three runs.

Carson Rhodes followed Durflinger. Rhodes finished the game with three hits, he was walked once, had one double, five RBIs and had two runs for the Bulldogs.

Also scoring two runs was Mitch Pomeroy Anthony Lowman. Pomeroy had one hit, was walked to base once and had one RBI. Lowman had two hits against the Chargers.

Connor Guess had two hits, including a double during the game. He also had two RBIs and scored on run for the Bulldogs. Zach Ernst also scored one run. He had one hit and two RBIs throughout the game.

Anthony Potthoff, Sam Thompson, Drew Gordon, Owen Crawford and Kaleb Booge each scored one run finishing up the Bulldogs’ 16.

The Bulldogs now have an 19-1 record after beating the Chargers 16-0. The Bulldogs will be playing Saydel on Friday, June 23 at 10:00 a.m.
